Job Summary
About the Role
TCAH relies on the accurate and efficient distribution of food donations. We're currently seeking a forklift operator who is experienced in operating heavy machinery and unafraid to take on responsibility and deliver results safely in this physically demanding role.
Responsibilities
- Unload food items and donations from incoming vehicles and stack them to assigned places
- Locate and move stock of products to pallets or crates for storage or shipment
- Identify damages and report shortages or quality deficiencies
- Transport food items to production workstations
- Inspect machinery to determine the need for repairs and guarantee safety by performing regular maintenance
- Comply with company policies and legal guidelines
- Help maintain a safe and orderly environment of the facilities
- Adequately adhere to safety management standards
- Sort and place materials or items in storage, truck and or warehouse
- Maintain inventory controls by collecting stock and recording on inventory sheet, dry, fresh and refrigerated
- Assist in counting of physical inventory
- Organize warehouse and work area for orderliness at all times
- Wear the proper safety equipment, including steel toe boots and gloves
- Other jobs as outlined by the Program Operations Manager, Director of Program and/or Executive Director
- Receive routing information and provide feedback to the Warehouse Supervisor
- Inspect and verify the complete contents and quality of all Food Hub procedures
- Perform regular food safety-related checks on forklifts and keep required daily food safety records
Qualifications
- High School diploma or equivalent preferred
- 2+ years previous driving/warehouse experience preferred
- Good communication, organizational, time management mathematical skills
- Dependable and Reliable
- Inventory, Equipment maintenance, data entry, and computer skills may be required
- Driver’s License Delivery driving experience is a plus
- Clean DMV printout
- Have a good understanding of the metropolitan area and able to navigate
- Experience handling pallet jack
- Microsoft knowledge
Physical Demands and Abilities
- Regularly required to use hands to finger, handle or feel, reach with hands and arms and talk or hear
- Frequently required to stand, walk, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl
- Occasionally required to sit and climb or balance
- Specific vision abilities required for this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust and focus
