Warehouse Assistant

About the role

Warehouse assistant needed for coordinating and expediting flow of material, parts, assemblies and finished product in accordance with production, shipping schedules and supervisors’ priorities.

Responsibilities

• Receive products and supports work processes by receiving, inspecting, preparing, sorting, identifying, weighing, allocating, and loading materials; placing orders in receiving area
• Route and assign material to storage locations
• Verify materials against receiving documents, noting and reporting discrepancies and any damages
• Prepare orders by processing requests and supply orders; pulling materials; packing boxes; placing orders in delivery area
• Return items to inventory by loading, moving, and unloading items
• Monitor and control movement of materials, parts and finished products
• Maintain inventory controls by collecting stock location orders and printing requests
• Maintain electronic files, records, and packing lists
• Maintain quality inspection by following organization standards
• Maintain safe and clean work environment by removing scrap; sweeping and mopping area; erecting barriers; disposing of hazardous materials; following safety rules, procedures and regulations; wearing personal protective equipment when necessary, keeping shelves, and work area clean
• Operate forklift and any other equipment as needed
• Contribute to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed

Qualifications

• Possess good communication and organizational skills
• High attention to detail
• Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment
• Ability to multi-task and display good time management
• Ability to operate computer; knowledge in Microsoft Office
• Must be able to sit, stand, crouch, kneel, and reach for extended periods of time
• Must be able to lift more than 50 lbs
• Experience in the Aviation/Defense industry a plus
• Knowledge of computerized inventory system a plus (Pentagon, Quantum)
• Experience operating forklift
