About the Role
We are seeking a Wardrobe Seamstress who will embody the heart and soul of our mission of creating memories worth repeating while bringing families closer together and caring deeply about our brand. The ideal candidate will be equal parts curious learner, innovator, administrator, detail driver, mentor, and motivator. This role exists to provide comfortable themed costumes to all Dollywood Company Hosts in a timely manner. Additionally, the ideal candidate will display and live out Lead with Love qualities by being patient, kind, trusting, unselfish, truthful, forgiving, dedicated, and accountable.
Responsibilities
- Issue, fit, and alter costumes to the host in a timely manner
- Produce at least three costumes per day while on production
- Cut costumes by patterns using electric cutters with fabric six layers thick
- Wash and dry costumes daily, up to sixteen loads a day, fold, and place back in stock
- Assist with Entertainment costume production, alterations, and laundry
- Keep a clean organized work area to produce costumes daily
- Iron with an industrial steam iron
- Stock shelves with rolls and bolts of fabric up to 50 lbs
- Operate sewing machines, sergers, electric scissors, and heat seal machine
- Copy forms and documents using a printer
- Input data on a computer
- Answer phones, make appointments, take down and communicate messages, and file papers

Requirements
- High School Diploma or GED
- Must be at least 18 years of age
- At least 5 years’ experience in a commercial/industrial environment with similar duties, including the use of required tools and sewing equipment
- Offers of employment are contingent upon satisfactory completion of onboarding process, including background screening and pre-employment drug screening

- Sewing, reading pattern instructions, altering costumes, and repairing costumes
- Capable of producing three costumes per day

Physical Requirements & Environmental Conditions
- Lifting and Carrying: Occasional to frequent lifting of up to 50 lbs utilizing company’s safety guidelines for safe lifting
- Mobility: Intermittent to prolonged sitting, standing, and/or walking for duration of shift, up to 13 hours
- Repetitive Movements: Performing repetitive movements and tasks throughout the shift, including repeated use of hands, arms, or other body parts
- Environmental Conditions: Ability to perform work tasks in varying weather conditions, including extreme cold and heat
- Cognitive and Sensory Requirements: Strong cognitive skills, including critical thinking, problem-solving, processing and retaining information, attention to detail, and effective communication
