About the Role
This is a trainee-level professional position responsible for counseling work of a therapeutic nature under the direct supervision of a licensed professional counselor, psychologist, or psychiatrist. Tasks include assessment, admission, client counseling, prognosis, placement, treatment, and discharge planning.
Responsibilities
- Assist in conducting individual or group interventions
- Administer, score, and offer preliminary interpretations of test results
- Work within the biological, cognitive-affective, and social bases of behavior
- Apply counseling theories and techniques
- Utilize scientific methods and procedures such as statistics, experimental design, and psychometrics
- Participate in interdisciplinary treatment teams
Requirements
- Provisional license as a Counselor-in-Training
- Knowledge of the biological, cognitive-affective, and social bases of behavior
- Counseling theories and techniques
- Scientific methods and procedures of understanding, predicting, and influencing human behavior
Qualifications
- Lack of post-secondary education will not be used as the sole basis for denying consideration to any applicant
