Walk-In Clinics - Advanced Registered Nurse Practitioner (ARNP) 65%
About the role
The University of Iowa Health Care Walk-In Clinics is seeking a 65% (26 hours a week) Advanced Registered Nurse Practitioners (ARNP) to primarily support our Iowa City/Corridor Walk-In Clinics (Urgent Care/Quick Care Clinics).
Responsibilities
- Provide care responsibilities in both our QuickCare and Urgent Care Clinics, will rotate clinical sites.
- Obtain medical history and perform physical examination.
- Assess, assist, diagnose and treat medical or surgical problems and record findings.
- Perform or assist in and interpret the performance of laboratory and related studies.
- Perform therapeutic procedures such as injections, immunizations, the suturing and care of wounds, removal of foreign bodies, ear and eye irrigation and other clinical procedures.
- Assist in arranging for continued care such as but not limited to: transfer to the Emergency Treatment Center; follow-up care or establishment of care with a primary care provider; and/or follow-up consultations (including referrals to appropriate specialty and subspecialty physicians as indicated by patients’ problems).
- Perform and screen results of special medical exams including but not limited to electrocardiogram, radiography, audiometric and vision screening, tonometry, and pulmonary function screening tests.
- Instruct and counsel patients regarding physical and mental health on matters such as diets, disease, therapy, and normal growth and development.
- Evaluate, treat and institute procedures essential to providing an appropriate response to urgent medical problems.
- Maintain awareness of health facilities, agencies and resources in order to facilitate the appropriate referral of patients.
- Order medications and administer drugs.
- Direct other medical personnel and health professionals in the execution of patient care.
- Participate in educating health care students in various programs.
- Participate in committees within the division, department, College of Medicine and University of Iowa Health Care.
Qualifications
- Education: Master's degree in Nursing is preferred. If Master's degree is in a related field, a Baccalaureate degree in nursing is required.
- Required Qualifications: Current board certification (FNP) in specialty area and licensure as ARNP in state of Iowa is required. Current license to practice nursing in Iowa is required.
- Required Experience: Minimum 1 year of acute patient care ARNP experience within Emergency Department, Urgent Care and/or Walk-In Clinic area(s), or Family Medicine.
- Desirable Qualifications: Previous EPIC experience. Comfortable with technology and leveraging video, or the desire to learn.

Pay
$56,960.80 - $102,892.40 at 65% (Salary is based on years of experience)
Schedule
Variable work hours between 7:00 AM-7:30 PM Sunday-Saturday, rotating weekend and holiday time.
Locations
Iowa City/Corridor locations and surrounding clinic locations including Quad Cities area (as needed).
