Description Fairhaven Christian Retirement Center is seeking Wait Staff to assist with our meal services. The ideal candidate loves working with older people and works well independently and as a team player. Schedule And Pay Information Starting Pay: $15.00 per hourStatus: Part time (15 - 20 hours per week)Hours: 4:30pm-8:00pm weekdays/weekends Note: Schedule must be flexible and open for weekend shifts. Full-time status is defined as 30+ hours per week. Primary Function: Responsible for serving food to residents and guests, dishwashing and cleaning in dining areas. Essential Functions Understands the various therapeutic diets and applies this knowledge when serving.Serves food to residents following their diets, food preferences and dislikes.Sets up employee trays.Sets up, delivers and picks up residents’ room trays.Sets dining room tables for mealsVacuums dining room floor after each meal.Washes dishes and cleans equipment and areas after each use.Clears tables, cleans tables, and chairs after each use.Prepares and pours beverages.Dishes up salads and desserts for all areas.Checks off and initials cleaning checklist at end of shiftParticipates in creating an atmosphere which allows for the privacy, dignity, cleanliness, safety and well-being of each residentSafeguards privacy and confidentiality of all resident health care information which includes complying with all HIPAA regulationsActs as a customer service representative and public relations ambassador for Fairhaven with residents, families, vendors, volunteers and other visitorsInteracts positively with all residents at all times creating an atmosphere which promotes a homelike environmentMaintains, cares for and safely uses supplies and equipment effectively and efficiently per Fairhaven policies and proceduresMaintains sanitary conditions; follows infection control and waste management procedures as they relate to this positionReports incidents of abuse, neglect or a violation of the resident’s rights immediatelyCompletes all in-service training requirements in a timely mannerCompletes all duties and tasks as assigned Working Conditions Kitchen and dining areasExposed to steam, hot water, food and hot equipmentIndividual duties within a team environmentFairhaven approved uniform must be wornTypical health care facility exposure when working with the elderly resident including potential injury or infection.
