About the Role

Bruker’s Nano Surfaces and Metrology Division is seeking a Wafer Fabrication Production Technician, Level IV at our facility in Camarillo, CA. The Wafer Fab Technician will process fragile Silicon wafers from start to finish with minimal supervision, coordinating daily work based on priorities set at weekly production meetings and equipment availability.

Responsibilities

  • Start-to-finish wafer processing of silicon MEMS devices using established processes.
  • Operate cleanroom equipment including photolithography, wet etch, dry etch, diffusion, sputtering, evaporation, optical and SEM inspection.
  • Communicate status of production lots with the planner and during weekly production meetings.
  • Capture and enter data into Microsoft Office files and Quality Management software.
  • Quality check product prior to delivery to the Assembly Department.
  • Communicate equipment failures to equipment engineering and process deviations to process engineering.
  • Meet committed delivery times.
  • Notify appropriate personnel when supplies are low.
  • Change out chemicals in wet process benches as required.
  • Assist with troubleshooting tools and improving processes as needed.

Requirements

Physical/Environmental Requirements

  • Must be able to work in a class 100 cleanroom environment, wearing gloves and full bunny suit, sitting for extended periods of time.
  • Must handle chemicals and work near sources of Ultraviolet light while wearing personal protective equipment.
  • Must have good vision, dexterity, and hand-eye coordination to handle fragile wafers.
  • Must be able to work looking through an optical microscope for extended periods of time.
  • Must be able to lift 30 lbs.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

  • Practical experience operating photolithography, wet etch, dry etch, diffusion, sputtering, evaporation, optical, and SEM inspection equipment.
  • Familiarity with Windows operating systems and MS Office suite, including Microsoft Excel and Word.
  • Excellent hand-eye coordination and steady hand to manipulate fragile wafers with tweezers under an optical microscope.
  • Ability to communicate and work well with team members.
  • Ability to read and follow Work Instructions without errors.
  • Willingness to learn new techniques and processes.

Educational/Experience Requirements

  • 5+ years of experience working in a wafer fab production environment.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • High School Diploma required; some college preferred.

Pay

The estimated base salary range for this full-time position is between $56,250 and $100,000. The base salary will depend on education, training, experience, geographic location, skills, competencies, job-related knowledge, and travel requirements. Full-time employees may also be eligible for a performance-related incentive.
