About the role

The WAF Coordinator is responsible for establishing procedures and processes for the Work Authorization Form (WAF) execution and administration, adhering to NAVSEA Standard Items 009-24 and 009-106. The role requires a strong understanding of JFMM & TUMS to provide guidance to WAF III personnel.

Responsibilities

  • Develop, coordinate, and conduct training sessions with the program team and ships-force on WAF and Tag-out procedures.
  • Maintain and update temp service diagrams using Microsoft Visio, and mentor the WAF team in its use.
  • Provide guidance when NAVSEA Standard Items change.
  • Assess and track project work across various departments and disciplines.
  • Evaluate and approve all WAF revisions.
  • Conduct WAF audits to ensure proper administration.
  • Monitor project progress and communicate deviations from the plan.
  • Analyze data and provide solutions to complex situations.
  • Train BAE personnel, teaming partners, and subcontractors in the overall WAF process.
  • Show proficiency with computers and software such as MS Word, Excel, and Visio.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements

A minimum of 5 years’ experience in ship repair, project planning, or an equivalent combination of education and experience. Proficiency with MS Word, Excel, and Visio is required.

Skills

  • Ability to assess and track project work across disparate departments and craft disciplines.
  • Understanding of task dependencies and logic (both internal and external).
  • Experience in evaluating and approving WAF revisions.
  • Proficiency in conducting WAF audits and monitoring project progress.
  • Ability to analyze data and provide meaningful solutions to complex situations.
  • Strong communication and training skills.

Pay

Full-Time Salary Range: $32,326 - $51,722
