About the role

As a Night Stocker you’ll join a close-knit team in the Grocery or Drug Store department, collaborating to meet nightly goals and share the night-shift lifestyle. You’ll stock a large store footprint, gaining exposure to many products and departments—an experience that can open doors to other roles and a potential long-term career at H-E-B.

Responsibilities

  • Stock shelves and refill displays
  • Load, unload, and move heavy, bulky products; may unload trucks
  • Condition shelves and products (rotation dates, shelf/labels, etc.) to meet A+ Standards
  • Keep department clean and organized (back room, shelves, etc.)
  • Apply personal discipline to follow Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and leader direction
  • Ensure federal, state, and company food-safety and sanitation standards are met
  • Work efficiently and collaboratively; meet productivity standards
  • Receive and apply constructive feedback
  • May coach or train other Stockers
  • Operate with a team mindset, often cross-functionally (e.g., Curbside), and build relationships across departments
  • Learn and model customer-service and hospitality with customers and Store Partners
  • Assist customers in locating products and answering questions

Qualifications

  • At least 18 years old
  • Preferred: prior stocking and customer-service experience
  • Plus: experience in a physically demanding job

  • Occasional exposure: loud noise, ambient temperatures, wet conditions
  • Ability to lift 86 lbs and manage loads in excess of 100 lbs

Frozen

  • Constant: reach at waist, grasp; exposure to cold temperatures
  • Frequent: stand, walk

  • Ability to lift 60 lbs and manage loads in excess of 100 lbs

General Merchandise

Definitions: Constant = 5.5+ hrs per 8-hour day; Frequent = 2.5–5.5 hrs; Occasional = 0–2.5 hrs.
