(W17) Material Handler-B Shift

Job Purpose

To perform loading / unloading of RJW trucks and outside carriers. Ensure all shipments are properly stored in the warehouse. Pick orders from warehouse inventory as directed by customer.

Essential Duties And Responsibilities

• Loading / unloading truck / trailers safely and efficiently using proper procedures, including outside carrier equipment.
• Picking and moving from 1 lb to 50 lbs or more multiple times.
• Ensure all documentation is properly completed.
• Cookordination with dispatch and sales to resolve any discrepancies.
• Proper storing of all inbound loads in the correct warehouse location.
• Ensure all shipments are properly marked before storing / picking.
• Maintain warehouse area with orderly stacking and good housekeeping.
• Spotting of trailers to maintain efficient yard organization and flow of equipment into warehouse.
• Cookordination paperwork with drivers after normal dispatch operations are finished for the day.
• General maintenance of are surrounding warehouse.
• Sweeping of trailers when empty.
• Ensure all shipments are correctly staged and loaded properly.
• Processing outbound freight cross-dock freight as necessary.

Additional Responsibilities

• Able to operate Stand-up Reach Forklifts, Cherry Pickers, and some sit-down forklift work.
• Able to follow all safety procedures at all times.
• Able to build pallets and break down stock.

Qualifications

• 1 year Fork Lift driving experience.
• Certified Fork Lift License.

Education And/or Experience Required

• High School Diploma or general education diploma (GED) is preferred.

Physical Demands

• Must be able to occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
• Must be able to activate phone systems utilizing keyboards and buttons.
• Frequent exposure to moving mechanical parts, fumes or airborne particles.
• Frequent exposure to noise levels in the work environment ranging from quiet to moderately loud.

Work Environment

• Indoor/Office environment.
• Sit and/or use repetitive hand motion.
• Frequent standing and walking.
• Exposure to excess of continuous 8 hours when required.
• Regularly works under stressful situations.
• Maintain work accuracy and ability to concentrate on more than one task at a time.
• Read and discern visual images on a variety of media with 20/20 corrected vision.
• Speak and communicate clearly over telephones.
• Sound physical health as determined by a certified licensed physician with no evidence of the use of controlled substances.
