"Vulnerability Management Specialist - Cybersecurity Project Manager"

Brooklyn, NY – Remote – 10+ months

Responsibilities

• Design, architect, and build vulnerability-management scanning infrastructure and tools (Rapid7, Tenable).
• Conduct Rapid7 and Tenable vulnerability scans across diverse networks.
• Analyze scan results via reports and dashboards to identify, assess, and prioritize risk.
• Evaluate security vulnerabilities, determine impact, develop mitigation strategies, and implement remediation.
• Perform intelligence research on CVEs, vendor hardware/software vulnerabilities, and present concise technical overviews to team members and customers.
• Automate vulnerability-management tasks using Python and PowerShell.
• Perform data analysis in Excel (VLOOKUP, Pivot Tables).
• Provide oral and written reports on vulnerability risk to technical stakeholders.
• Analyze Cybersecurity documentation (security policies, plans, procedures).

Requirements

• Minimum 8 years of Cybersecurity experience.
• Strong knowledge of CVEs, CVSS, vector strings, NVD, MITRE, attack vectors, and mitigations.
• Extensive hands-on experience with Rapid7 and Tenable vulnerability-management tools.
• Experience with scripting (Python, PowerShell) and Excel data analysis.
• Experience with Windows and Linux servers.
• Exceptional written and oral communication skills.
• Exceptional organizational and analytical skills.

Qualifications

• Certifications: CISSP, GSEC, GCIA, GCIH, CEH, CWAPT (or equivalent).
• Knowledge of security best practices across multiple platforms (Microsoft Windows, VMware, Linux, VPN, Cisco IOS, Android/iOS).
• Familiarity with next-generation firewalls, IDS/IPS, DMZ, IPSec, DNS, SMTP, HTTP, VPN, proxies.
• Understanding of public-key cryptography, encoding, encryption, and hashing techniques.
• Knowledge of security frameworks: NIST, CIS, Cisco, Juniper, Palo Alto, Fortinet, Checkpoint, F5.
