Job Summary
Key Responsibilities
- Safely set up, adjust, and operate VTL machines to perform a variety of machining operations (boring, turning, facing, and threading) on large-scale parts.
- Interpret blueprints, engineering drawings, and job specifications to determine machine adjustments, tooling requirements, and operational sequences.
- Inspect finished parts using precision measuring instruments (micrometers, calipers, depth gauges, and dial indicators) to ensure strict adherence to tolerances and quality standards.
- Select appropriate cutting tools, fixtures, and attachments. Perform routine machine maintenance and troubleshoot operational issues as needed.
Qualifications & Skills
- Proven experience as a VTL Machinist or operating large-scale vertical boring mills.
- Strong proficiency in reading and interpreting blueprints and technical schematics.
- Expert ability to use precision manual measuring tools.
Physical Demands
- Ability to handle and rig large parts safely;
- Comfortable standing for extended periods and lifting heavy components up to 50 lbs.
