VPK Teacher - Prodigy

About the Role

As a VPK Teacher, you will help foster a nurturing environment rich in developmentally appropriate activities that encourage children's curiosity and learning. We care for the whole child as an individual, including their social-emotional, cognitive, and developmental needs.

You will impact education by:

• Communicating with co-teacher and other staff members daily
• Mentoring and training new staff as needed
• Collaborating with other staff members to plan activities
• Leading by example in the classroom and school
• Ensuring children's safety and well-being at all times
• Participating in ongoing professional development
• Being a team player and an active, engaged member of the teaching staff
• Communicating with parents daily regarding the child's progress and development
• Maintaining a positive can-do attitude
• Maintaining accreditation and state childcare standards
• Upholding company vision and mission at all times

Requirements

• High School Diploma/GED
• College-level coursework, Associate's, or Bachelor's degree (preferred)
• CDA/Staff Credential/BS required
• VPK Credential required
• 1-year experience working as lead teacher in a licensed childcare facility
• Meets state childcare education requirements
• Knowledge of infant/toddler developmentally appropriate practice (DAP)
• Familiar with NAEYC standards
• Familiar with continuity of care
• Strong organizational skills
• Able to maintain professional composure in stressful situations
• Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
• Familiar with accreditation process (preferred)
• May perform other duties assigned
