About the Role
As a VPK Teacher, you will help foster a nurturing environment rich in developmentally appropriate activities that encourage children's curiosity and learning. We care for the whole child as an individual, including their social-emotional, cognitive, and developmental needs.
You will impact education by:
- Communicating with co-teacher and other staff members daily
- Mentoring and training new staff as needed
- Collaborating with other staff members to plan activities
- Leading by example in the classroom and school
- Ensuring children's safety and well-being at all times
- Participating in ongoing professional development
- Being a team player and an active, engaged member of the teaching staff
- Communicating with parents daily regarding the child's progress and development
- Maintaining a positive can-do attitude
- Maintaining accreditation and state childcare standards
- Upholding company vision and mission at all times
Requirements
- High School Diploma/GED
- College-level coursework, Associate's, or Bachelor's degree (preferred)
- CDA/Staff Credential/BS required
- VPK Credential required
- 1-year experience working as lead teacher in a licensed childcare facility
- Meets state childcare education requirements
- Knowledge of infant/toddler developmentally appropriate practice (DAP)
- Familiar with NAEYC standards
- Familiar with continuity of care
- Strong organizational skills
- Able to maintain professional composure in stressful situations
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
- Familiar with accreditation process (preferred)
- May perform other duties assigned
