About the Role
We are looking for a Senior Agriculture Underwriter to be based in our US office. This role offers potential to advance to Head of North America, work on LATAM markets, and contribute to worldwide agriculture strategy.
- Develop and execute underwriting strategy for agriculture business.
- Establish and maintain dialogues with clients and brokers, identifying opportunities that fit PartnerRe’s risk appetite.
- Travel to clients’ offices, conduct field visits, and perform loss assessment surveys.
- Represent PartnerRe in industry bodies and participate in agriculture insurance/reinsurance conferences to build brand recognition.
- Monitor and report capacity deployment, track weather variables and climatic trends, and analyze their impact on the agriculture portfolio.
- Collaborate with internal teams such as actuarial, accounting, claims, and operations to ensure data quality, consistency, and compliance with guidelines.
Requirements
- 10+ years of experience in agriculture insurance/reinsurance business.
- In-depth knowledge of MPCI and Crop Hail insurance (insurance or reinsurance).
- Proven track record in underwriting, product design, and portfolio management.
- Proactive problem-solving mindset and excellent English communication skills (verbal and written).
- Spanish language skills are a plus.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a global specialist team, often within tight deadlines.
