Responsibilities
- Define and deliver the application and integration architecture for enterprise-scale platforms
- Ensure high-quality, secure, resilient, and compliant solutions for a global user base
- Translate complex business requirements into robust technical solutions
- Drive delivery through an agile operating model
- Lead the design and implementation of web, API, and integration services
- Establish engineering standards and best practices
- Promote API-first, end-to-end development
- Partner with the Colleague CIO organization to enable future platform integration
- Provide technical leadership across distributed teams
- Govern architecture and integration patterns
- Build and lead a high-performing engineering team
- Effectively hire, manage, and develop engineers across global locations
Requirements
- Significant technical leadership with deep expertise in Java, Spring, Kafka, REST APIs, OpenShift, and modern engineering practices
- Proven ability to design and deliver secure, scalable, resilient, and compliant enterprise solutions
- Extensive experience in API-first architecture, microservices, and event-driven systems
- In-depth knowledge of application security, identity, and access management
- Proven performance history of leading high-performing engineering teams in fast-paced environments
- Practical experience with CI/CD pipelines and tools such as GitLab, and Jenkins
- Experience with modern cloud platforms, including OpenShift, AWS, delivering scalable, secure, and resilient enterprise solutions
- AI-first mindset with a passion for leveraging AI and intelligent automation
- Solid understanding of Agile delivery practices, with practical experience working within Scrum and Kanban frameworks
- Continuous improvement mindset, embracing emerging technologies, modern engineering practices, and data-driven ways of working
Qualifications
- Considerable Python development experience
- Strong communication skills to influence senior leaders and translate complex technical concepts into business value
