About the role

The VP, Strategy & Operations serves as the "KBS Lead" at 4-6 of our companies. This role involves closely managing the relationship with the CEO, building and maintaining the integrated growth plan, ensuring the rest of the KBS team is prepared to perform, and creating the conditions in which a CEO and their team experience Kanbrick as the best partner they've ever had. You will work in partnership with an Investing Lead on each company and ramp into this role company by company as the firm grows.

Responsibilities

  • Build and maintain relationships with CEOs and executive teams at 4-6 partner companies.
  • Create and execute integrated growth plans for these companies.
  • Ensure the KBS team is prepared to perform at each company.
  • Create the conditions for a CEO and their team to experience Kanbrick as the best partner.
  • Bring depth to bear on work that meaningfully moves the needle across multiple companies and contexts.
  • Work with an Investing Lead to lead the lead partner role at two or three companies.
  • Contribute to the Kanbrick Community by building genuine relationships with Community CEOs and owners, delivering content virtually and at events, and showing meaningful presence across Community programs.

Requirements

  • Operated a P&L or led a senior function with real accountability for outcomes.
  • Spent meaningful time in a services-firm or PE operations context.
  • Holds a clear point of view on where value is created and lost and defends it in front of a CEO and an investing partner.
  • Uses AI to diagnose, plan, and deliver, making partner companies faster.
  • Believes patient capital and genuine long-term partnership is the better model.
  • Does the work, not just the deck.
  • Can take an ambiguous problem from first diagnosis through to results, and is comfortable in both the strategy discussion and the execution phase.

Qualifications

  • Earns CEO trust through substance and genuine curiosity, not positional authority.
  • Gets real energy from enabling others.
  • Believes patient capital and genuine long-term partnership is the better model.
  • Does the work, not just the deck.
  • Can take an ambiguous problem from first diagnosis through to results, and is just as comfortable in the weeds of execution as in the strategy discussion.
