About the role
The successful candidate will lead strategic initiatives, cultivate key client relationships, and guide multidisciplinary teams across complex engineering projects related to water, wastewater, dams, mining, water resources, and more.
Responsibilities
- Lead the development and execution of regional growth strategies for the Pacific West Water business line, aligning with AECOM’s broader business objectives.
- Build, mentor, and lead high-performing teams, fostering a culture of innovation, collaboration, and accountability.
- Lead, in coordination with operations and our federal team, the development of the annual sales plan.
- Focus division growth leaders to “on-strategy” clients and opportunities.
- Lead business development activities including capture planning, proposal development, and pursuit strategies for major projects and programs.
- Establish and expand relationships with public and private sector clients, identifying new business opportunities in water, wastewater, dams, mining, and water resources markets.
- Provide technical leadership and oversight on water infrastructure projects, contributing to planning, design, and delivery.
- Collaborate with regional and national leadership to coordinate resources, share best practices, and drive integrated solutions across disciplines.
- Monitor market trends, regulatory developments, and emerging technologies to position AECOM as a leader in water solutions.
- Manage financial performance related to growth initiatives, ensuring profitability and sustainable expansion.
- Represent AECOM at industry events, conferences, and client meetings to enhance brand recognition and market presence.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or a related field and 12+ years of relevant experience in water infrastructure engineering, business development, or demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education including 4 years of leadership experience.
- Master’s degree in Civil Engineering, Environmental Engineering, Business Administration, or related field.
- Professional Engineer (PE) license.
- Strong network of client relationships across the western United States.
- Proven success managing large-scale, multidisciplinary infrastructure programs.
- Experience leading high-performing teams and driving strategic growth initiatives within an engineering consulting environment.
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and leadership skills with the ability to influence at all organizational levels.
