Job Summary
Responsible for leading all non-labor contracting efforts, supplier relationships, and capital equipment services, including vision, strategy, execution, and overall business development for HCA Healthcare and HealthTrust members.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Oversee the development and execution of contracting strategies and capital equipment service offerings.
- Lead the negotiation and finalization of contracts, ensuring optimal terms and conditions.
- Manage supplier executive relationships and ensure accountability.
- Develop and maintain HealthTrust member relationships, championing HCA's interests.
- Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders, including C-suite executives, clinical leadership, and supply chain operators.
- Meet and exceed annual goals, including savings, category expansion, and operational productivity.
- Establish strategic direction for HCA’s contract portfolio and influence senior leadership.
- Manage financial and budgetary considerations, revenue, and customer relationships.
- Lead team integration, leadership, and personnel development.
- Develop critical service line offerings and execute them within HCA and other HealthTrust members.
- Maximize value across the equipment lifecycle, including planning, acquisition, management, and disposition.
- Develop processes, policies, and technologies to ensure a complete capital asset management program.
- Take a lead role in the development and execution of HealthTrust Capital Equipment Services business direction and strategic plan.
- Lead all aspects of communications related to HealthTrust Capital Equipment Services.
- Create systems, processes, and decisions that make effective use of organizational resources and enhance operational efficiency.
- Establish clear goals that align team’s efforts with the organization's vision.
- Manage initiatives and teams in a dynamic, fast-paced work environment.
- Lead critical conversations on confidential information to gain alignment and assess root cause of both member and supplier issues.
- Ensure self and team adhere to policies and procedures and operate at the highest ethical standard.
- Ensure a culture where everyone feels heard, seen and valued, positivity, trust, and innovation.
- Ensure contracting work plan (project) timelines are appropriately managed.
- Participate in key industry events and stay educated on industry news, issues and opportunities.
- Utilize global sourcing team for market research / information.
- Ensure team is highly collaborative with the “functional team” of sourcing, clinical, finance, legal and other key parts of the organizations.
- Evaluate supplier product pipelines and emerging technologies to determine impact on members and opportunity for category expansion.
Requirements
- 15 years’ relevant work experience minimum.
- At least 10 years’ experience in sourcing/contracting and at least 8 years’ experience in effectively managing teams.
- 7+ years of related healthcare or industry experience, preferred experience specific to Medical Capital Equipment.
- Experience working in or directly with hospital facilities a plus.
- Healthcare and/or GPO experience strongly preferred.
- Bachelor’s Degree required.
- Master’s Degree a plus.
