Remote opportunity for a full-time Software Engineer to join our distributed product team.

About the role

We’re building the next generation of tools that help small businesses run payroll, benefits, and HR in one place. As a member of the engineering team, you’ll work closely with product managers, designers, and other engineers to ship features that delight our customers.

Responsibilities

• Design, implement, and maintain scalable backend services in Ruby on Rails and Go.
• Collaborate with frontend engineers to build intuitive user interfaces using React.
• Write clean, well-tested code and participate in code reviews.
• Debug production issues and implement fixes across the stack.
• Improve system performance, reliability, and security.
• Contribute to architectural decisions and technical roadmaps.

Requirements

• 5+ years of professional software engineering experience.
• Strong proficiency in Ruby on Rails and/or Go.
• Experience with React and modern frontend development.
• Familiarity with relational databases (PostgreSQL preferred).
• Comfort working in a distributed, remote-first environment.
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills.

Pay

$140,000 – $180,000 per year, depending on experience and location.
