Key Areas of Responsibility

  • Strategic Leadership: Develop and execute an operations plan for the areas of responsibility that aligns with AH strategic plan. Lead the design and implementation of standardized operating models, policies, and metrics to ensure quality, consistency, and efficiency, across all facilities. Partner with clinical, administrative, and physician leaders to advance operational excellence, patient experience, and safety. Identify and develop partnerships with third parties that align with AH mission, strategy, culture to increase quality, speed, effectiveness, and cost. Assess imaging demand, capacity, and utilization to determine and adjust workforce, asset, and technology requirements on an ongoing basis. Identify and pursue opportunities to create the right size imaging service platform through acquisitions and partnerships, building new capacity and employing innovative technologies. Collaborate with business development and marketing teams to expand service offerings and market share.
  • Operational Performance: Lead optimization of each function in partnership with facility, medical group, and service line leadership to support high-quality, cost-effective patient care. Establish and monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) for patient experience, access, team member engagement, quality, safety, and productivity. Drive top decile performance in each operational domain, using benchmarking, analytics, and continuous improvement methodologies. Oversee system-wide operational budgets, capital planning, and resource optimization for areas of responsibility. Ensure effective oversight of facilities management, construction, and real estate development projects to support growth, modernization, and sustainability initiatives. Oversee the day-to-day operations across all imaging modalities at multiple sites. Design frameworks that empower clinical and operational teams to optimize processes and implement efficiencies. Ensure efficient workflows, resource optimization, and high-quality image acquisition. Champion the adoption of modern technologies and process improvement methodologies to enhance efficiency and effectiveness.
  • Standardization and Integration: Develop and implement system-wide standards for service delivery, staffing, technology platforms, supply chain utilization, and performance management. Ensure integration of operations across acute, ambulatory, and post-acute settings to enable seamless patient flow and care coordination. Lead the adoption of Lean and High Reliability Organization (HRO) principles to eliminate waste, minimize defects, reduce variation, and promote consistency of operations. Oversee the integration of services and workflows across multiple business units guiding the organization through change with a focus on technology adoption and process redesign.
  • Talent and Culture: Recruit and develop a high-performing leadership team across all operational domains. Foster a culture of excellence, accountability, innovation, and exceeding customer expectations. Partner with HR to elevate performance and talent review processes for each function. Engage team members through inclusive approaches to continuous improvement. Ensure appropriate staffing. Monitor market trends, ensuring competitive wages and employing flexible staffing model to retain and attract talent. Collaborate with HR to develop pipeline initiatives creating pathways to upskill and reskill Atlantic Health to serve as technical training site. Supervise, mentor, and develop a multidisciplinary team. Foster a culture of accountability, teamwork, innovation, and continuous improvement.
  • Collaboration and Partnerships: Work closely with system executives, physician enterprise leadership, and nursing to align operations with clinical goals and quality initiatives. Develop service level agreement (SLAs) for each function with all key customers, Hospitals and Medical Group. Partner with supply chain, IT, and finance teams to support enterprise-wide standardization and performance improvement.
  • Quality and Compliance: Participate in the design of a care delivery model and clinical care processes to deliver quality outcomes without unnecessary layers & overhead. Drive performance improvement initiatives to enhance patient satisfaction, safety, and clinical outcomes. Establish system wide imaging operational policies as part of centralized standard of care. Develop and implement quality monitoring processes and pursue performance improvement initiatives. Oversee continuous compliance with all federal, state, and local regulations, as well as standards set by accrediting bodies like the American College of Radiology (ACR) and The Joint Commission. Ensure ongoing technical competency and licensure requirements are met.
  • Financial Management: Optimize resource utilization, staffing models, and operational efficiency to reduce costs. Optimize revenue streams through oversight of upstream revenue cycle activities. Increase profit through enhanced offerings.
  • Equipment and Technology: Manage the procurement, maintenance, and proper utilization of imaging equipment across system. Oversee long term imaging capital planning, partnering with Atlantic Health Sourcing, to drive greatest organizational value. Assess and consider technology innovations which may impact clinical care and need to upgrade.
  • Physician and Clinical Collaboration: Foster strong collaborative relationships with physicians, nursing, and other clinical leaders to shape service design, improve clinical outcomes, and enhance patient experience.
  • Stakeholder and Client Relationship Management: Build and maintain strong relationships with key internal and external stakeholders, including clients, partners, vendors, and executive leadership, to ensure seamless service delivery and high customer satisfaction.

Qualifications

  • Education: A Bachelor's degree in Radiologic Sciences, Business or Healthcare Administration, or a related field is required; a Master's degree in Healthcare Administration or Business Administration is required.
  • Experience: 10+ years of progressive leadership and healthcare management experience, with a significant portion in a senior management role, experience in running radiology in complex, multi-site settings is required.
  • Licensure/Certification: Relevant state licensure and professional certification (e.g., from the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT)) is preferred.
