VP - Product Quality Excellence

For our client, we are seeking a VP - Product Quality Excellence to join the team of a leader in the Retail & Consumer Goods space. This executive role will lead enterprise-wide quality strategy across electrical systems and software, with a focus on building rigorous standards for complex consumer products. The position will partner closely with Engineering, Product, Operations, and Compliance to embed quality early in development and support successful launches. This leader will also guide executive decision-making, strengthen risk management, and build a high-performing quality organization. Location: Needham, MA - US based candidates only, no visa sponsorship available Compensation: $220,000 – $300,000 annually Responsibilities Develop and implement a comprehensive quality strategy for electrical systems and software across all product lines Partner with Engineering, Product, Operations, and Compliance to integrate quality early in product development Represent the Quality function in executive decision-making and strategic planning processes Establish and enforce rigorous testing and validation protocols for embedded systems and firmware Ensure compliance with industry standards and regulations like UL, FCC, CE, and GDPR Drive quality risk assessments during product concept, design, prototyping, and launch Build and lead a cross-functional team of quality engineers while fostering a culture of continuous improvement Qualifications Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, Software Engineering, or related field 15+ years of experience in hardware/software quality engineering, with 5+ years in a senior leadership role Proven expertise in embedded systems, IoT devices, mobile applications, and consumer product development In-depth knowledge of QA methodologies, standards, and tools for both hardware and software Strong knowledge of product safety, EMC, and cybersecurity standards Benefits Medical, dental, and vision insurance Flexible spending accounts and health savings accounts with company contributions 401(k) retirement plan with matching contributions Employee stock purchase program and life insurance Generous paid time off and company holidays Parental leave and identity theft protection Pet insurance and back-up child and eldercare days Our client is an equal opportunity employer.
