Job Summary
This position is available as a hybrid position in our Sioux Falls, SD or Wilmington, DE office.
About the Role
Oversee the daily operations and support the long-term strategy of payments at the Bank, including ACH, Wires, Real-Time Payments, FedNow, and Push to Card transactions. Ensure timely, efficient, secure, and compliant processing for clients, originators, and processors. Identify trends in the market and work with senior leaders to meet client demands and opportunities.
Key Responsibilities
- Create a high-performance culture and develop strategies that align with strategic goals.
- Represent Payment Operations and collaborate with Payments, IT, and VMO teams to provide operational solutions.
- Identify and address trends in the marketplace, collaborating with senior leadership to meet client demands or opportunities.
- Manage client onboarding, presenting solutions for payment support, and enhancing the client experience.
- Drive and monitor disaster recovery and business continuity plans, establishing monitoring parameters and escalation paths.
- Oversee change management processes for payment systems projects, conversions, and implementations.
- Work with payments teams and vendors to ensure smooth integration of third-party fintech providers and support system changes.
- Analyze and monitor opportunities to maximize operational and systemic efficiencies and reinforce core system redundancies.
- Present recommendations to senior leadership to continuously improve and enhance operational processes and technologies.
- Participate in RFPs for third-party fintech providers and ensure solutions integrate smoothly with existing platforms and processes.
- Act as the primary escalation contact for client relationship managers and resolve elevated client issues.
Qualification Requirements
- Undergraduate degree in a related field or equivalent experience.
- 12 years financial industry experience, including 7 years managing payment operations teams with strict adherence to critical daily deadlines.
- Payments accreditations such as Accredited ACH professional (AAP), Electronic Transactions Association (ETA) CPP, SWIFT, Accredited Payments Risk Professional, Certified Card Payments Professional, etc.
- On-call availability until 4pm EST Sunday evening through 10pm EST Friday evening.
- Strong working knowledge of payment rules and regulations.
- Excellent accounting and reconcilement skills.
- Working knowledge of one or more of the following systems: SFTP vendor, in-house file movers, ACH platform, Wires platform, cash management system, internal automated jobs, etc.
- Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills.
- Ability to drive through to resolve all issues.
- Team player, able to work effectively in a multi-tasking environment.
- Excellent analytical abilities, detail-oriented focus, and ability to solve problems under pressure.
