Responsibilities
- Develops policies and procedures defining services offered by Our Lady of the Lake RMC.
- Evaluates nursing practices, health care trends, hospital performance, and community standards of care to promote high standards of quality patient care.
- Maintains divisional staffing levels and addresses staffing issues to meet employee needs.
- Defines and implements standards for personnel evaluation and monitors their application to ensure efficient resource utilization.
- Assists in the development and implementation of organization-wide programs, policies, and procedures.
- Analyzes market trends, identifies new service opportunities, and evaluates national and community standards of care.
- Prepares and reviews records and reports to ensure efficient management of healthcare services.
- Directs the development and review of operating, capital equipment, and personnel budgets for departments within assigned division.
- Analyzes departmental performance, reviews budget variances, and ensures responsive action.
- Promotes harmonious relationships and effective communications within the department and with other areas.
- Serves as a member of hospital administration by participating in the development and implementation of plans, policies, and programs.
- Aids in the creation and development of programs and services based on organizational goals and community health care needs.
- Resolves divisional problems related to personnel, equipment, and system issues to improve divisional efficiency and ensure cost-conscious resource utilization.
- Fosters effective communication between reporting department heads and monitors their performance.
- Analyzes, evaluates, and provides recommendations on the quality and efficiency of services provided by assigned departments.
- Aids in the creation and development of quality health care programs and services that reflect hospital-wide goals and community health care needs.
- Directs and recommends new programs and revisions that enhance and improve existing programs.
- Researches and identifies opportunities for new service areas.
Qualifications
- 5 years' experience in hospital management.
- Master's degree.
- RN license, current, unencumbered, and in good standing in Louisiana.
