Position Summary

The Vice President, Operations (Mechanicals) is responsible for leading operations for Jabil's Injection Molding products, Sterilization capabilities, and Healthcare customers with over $1B in revenue and headcount of approximately 4,000 workers across multiple locations.

  • Other key relationships: Plant Controller, Regional Controller, Regional Operations COE, Global Business Units Functions (IT, HR, Supply Chain, etc.)

Key Responsibilities

  • Operations Strategy and Direction: Provide leadership and direction to the site Operations team, including profit targets, defining short- and long-term vision, setting strategy, and holding accountability to execute upon operational goals. Ensure company-wide policies are implemented within the operations.
  • Operations Management: Oversee all aspects of operations including manufacturing, supply chain, inventory, planning, and engineering. Execute demand at the highest level of quality while achieving optimal margin and ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements, as applicable. Ensure effective workforce & capacity planning to meet the dynamic customer demands; optimize resource allocation to maximize productivity and profitability.
  • Operational Excellence: Utilize deep industry knowledge for operational processes, foster efficiency, and innovation. Identify opportunities for process improvement; manage a portfolio of strategic initiatives across the locations and/or region driving automation, cost-effectiveness, and scalability.
  • Profit and Loss (P&L) Ownership: Responsible for overall profit and loss of the in-scope operations and ensure the attainment of financial and strategic operational goals. Monitor and react based on financial performance against long-term strategic plans.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work cohesively with cross-functional teams to achieve collective goals, emphasizing a partnership mindset. Align with other senior leaders (Global Business Units, Supply Chain, IT, HR, etc.) on overall business objectives. Collaborate with Global Business Units, Sales, and Marketing teams to execute product innovation, capabilities and market expansion. Serve as a key partner in strategic planning; ensure the linkage of those plans to annual budgets and forecasts.

  • Team Leadership: Provide strong leadership in recruiting, developing, and retaining top talent, ensuring Operations serve as an influential strategic partner to the organization. Mentor and develop talent, ensuring execution of succession and development plans. Instill a culture of respect, accountability, and innovation. Lead as a consistent role model for others by reinforcing the importance of integrity and behaving in accordance with Jabil’s values, compliance, and ethical standards.

Ideal Experience

  • Seasoned Leader: 20+ years of progressive experience in operations and business unit leadership, with increasing scope and responsibility, including oversight of multi-site and large-scale operations.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead and direct multi-disciplinary operations management teams to deliver financial performance, operational excellence, and the highest standards of quality.
  • Executive leadership of operations with deep expertise in contract manufacturing, particularly within healthcare and other highly regulated industries, such as FDA-governed customers.
  • Experience in a complex, global manufacturing business; demonstrated ability to lead manufacturing operations with over $1B in revenue across multiple locations.
  • Hands-on experience managing a team, working closely with the business units, finance and other functions of a complex, low-margin global manufacturing business.
  • Proven record of manufacturing optimization including automation, cost-effectiveness, and scalability.
  • In-Country Workforce Management: Seasoned executive with a strong track record of leading large, geographically dispersed operations across North America, combining regional market insight with cultural sophistication to build credibility, alignment, and performance across diverse teams.

Education and Credentials

  • A bachelor’s degree is required, preferably in operations, engineering, finance/accounting, or business management.
  • An advanced degree (MBA or equivalent) is a plus.

Forge collaboration with each employee to establish clear, challenging performance goals and metrics that are linked with broader strategic imperatives.
