VP Operations

About the Role

As our VP of Operations, you will provide administrative leadership for an assigned hospital campus and clinics, ensuring operations align with strategic plans, standards, and regulations to deliver high-quality, cost-effective healthcare outcomes.

You will directly oversee site-based functions, including plant operations, environmental services, dietary, supply chain, and clinical operations for respiratory, diagnostic imaging, and perioperative services. Responsibilities include optimizing culture, quality, safety, and patient experience; leading change management and performance improvement; maximizing financial performance; and fostering external relationships. You will also manage budgets, oversee capital improvements, and drive initiatives to enhance hospital operations and quality of care.

To succeed, you will maintain strong ties with all departments and medical staff to ensure efficient, compliant operations and timely problem-solving. Your expertise in healthcare reform, operational models, and regulations will be crucial for leveraging growth, ensuring financial viability, and developing strategic opportunities within contract administration, cost containment, and regulatory compliance.

You will closely collaborate with triad leadership partners to oversee the campus effectively and develop multi-horizon strategy and action plans aligned with the movement toward value-based care. Additional responsibilities include:

• Developing and implementing the operational model to integrate, optimize, and expand campus-based services (hospital and clinic-based) with a focus on inter-professional and value-based care.
• Creating non-traditional services that meet consumer needs outside traditional settings.
• Integrating emergency and non-emergency services into a cohesive model that provides appropriate care in the right setting.
• Sharing successful University Campus strategies and services with other CHI Health facilities, including hospitals, family health centers, and specialty clinics.
• Developing, monitoring, and utilizing a comprehensive balanced scorecard, including cost, quality, and experience metrics, to ensure the campus delivers value.
• Identifying metrics that measure value in non-traditional, non-hospital-centric terms.
• Developing and administering capital budgets in alignment with strategic direction to ensure the financial health of the campus.
• Coordinating with hospital, physician, and academic enterprise operational leaders to determine the impact on operational budgets.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Nursing, Healthcare Administration, or a related field.
• 6–8 years of progressively responsible related work experience, including four years in a supervisory or management capacity in a healthcare delivery organization.

Preferred Qualifications

• Master’s degree in Healthcare Administration or a related field, or enrollment in a related master’s program.

Pay

$83.42 – $116.79 per hour.
