About the Role

This critical role leads Supply Chain and Procurement functions within Baxter’s North America organization, driving the S&OP process, strategic supply chain planning, procurement/strategic sourcing, supplier management, and overall supply chain operations.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the Supply Chain structure, processes, and systems to establish heightened efficiency and quality across all functions.
  • Ensure Supply Chain plays an integral leadership role in aligning customer/sales needs with production plans, inventory builds, and purchasing strategies to deliver lowest cost and optimized service levels.
  • Provide robust leadership across Inventory Management, Purchasing, Customer Service, and consolidated Forecasting/Demand Planning.
  • Support and lead business-related procurement contracting for logistics, MRO, consumables, and capex.
  • Provide governance and support to site-based teams on Warehousing, Distribution, and Logistics in line with S&OP outputs.
  • Co-pilot the design and implementation of the S&OP+ signature process in North America, representing Supply operational, forward planning, and technical inputs.
  • Shape activity management lead-times for project execution, including new product introductions and supply response to demand requests within capacity utilization.
  • Evaluate Supply Planning and Procurement management of portfolio choices to drive strategic decisions.
  • Lead the Procurement function and implement a Strategic Sourcing Category management system to drive cost savings through scale and contract management.
  • Integrate business capital asset additions and acquisitions, ensuring procurement systems highlight variances for financial recovery.
  • Develop a “best-in-class” purchasing strategy with robust supplier relationships and an “early warning system” for cost reduction, obsolescence, and vendor performance.
  • Develop the supply chain organization structure and lead centralized demand planning, supporting site-based factory scheduling and formalized rate input systems.
  • Establish supply chain metrics, dashboards, and standards for a central planning operating system, incorporating factory metrics for excellence in customer service, materials obsolescence, and inventory management.
  • Collaborate with IT to develop ERP, tools, and planning systems for productivity improvements and efficiency in execution.
  • Identify and evaluate financial opportunities, recommending solutions to drive overall supply chain effectiveness and continuous improvement across the segment P&L.
  • Drive timely implementation of efficiency improvements, prioritize projects, and establish best practices across factories.
  • Develop supply chain financial targets, standards, and tracking for inventory plans, COGS delivery, cash delivery, and logistics costs/tonne.
  • Develop segment KPI roadmaps and maintain supply chain KPIs in conjunction with Planning, Procurement, Inventory, and Logistics managers.
  • Own the Procurement PPV strategy and implement annual cost reduction strategies across all aspects of materials sourcing.
  • Serve as the primary interface with Commercial, R&D, Operations, Finance, Legal, and other functional area management teams.
  • Collaborate with other Baxter business units and supply chain teams to develop supply chain policies and sourcing practices.
  • Ensure Procurement and Planning functions deliver operations execution to standard cost and customer service on time in full.
  • Maintain relationships and ensure timely communication with an exceptional leadership style.
  • Develop and coach Supply Chain team members, including direct reports, implementing development plans, training, and fostering a positive culture of continuous improvement.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree required, preferably in Engineering, Supply Chain, or Business Management.
  • 10+ years of experience in consumer-packaged goods manufacturing.
  • Demonstrated senior leadership experience driving culture, strategic planning, and execution in multi-site organizations with revenues of $300–$500M.

Skills

  • Leadership in fast-paced environments with influencing skills from shop floor to C-suite.
  • Financial and commercial acumen.
  • Awareness of retail and military commercial marketplaces.
  • Expertise in supply chain and capacity planning methodologies, data collection systems, inventory management principles, and production scheduling.
  • Knowledge of ERP and supply chain systems, performance metrics, and resource planning.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and detail-oriented skills.
  • Commitment to work quality, integrity, and operational excellence.

Physical Requirements

  • Prolonged sitting and continuous use of a computer.
  • May lift, carry, push, or pull objects up to 10 lbs.
