VP of Product Management

SpotOn · Chicago, IL · 1 mo ago
On-siteMarketing$275k–$320k/yrFull-time

About the role

SpotOn builds restaurant technology that helps independent restaurants compete and win, from award‑winning point‑of‑sale to AI‑powered profit tools. The company is backed by real humans who care about helping restaurants succeed and has been recognized as the #1 Restaurant POS by G2 (Summer 2026), top‑rated POS by Capterra, and a Great Place to Work and Built In’s Best Workplace for multiple years.

We are looking for an experienced Product Leader to lead the Intelligence, Reporting, and Innovative AI teams, reporting directly to the Global Head of Product Management and working closely with the C‑Suite to shape strategy, define roadmaps, and build impactful, innovative products.

Responsibilities

  • Define product strategy for your product areas and contribute to SpotOn’s overall product strategy.
  • Be data‑driven, diving into metrics and efforts that achieve company and customer goals.
  • Manage a team of Product Managers as they investigate market opportunities, build the product roadmap, and make strategic adjustments based on client needs, data, and business priority.
  • Be forward‑thinking in product vision and design, ensuring SpotOn leads rather than chases in AI.
  • Work cross‑functionally with Engineering, Design, Product Management, Sales, and Support to elicit, understand, rationalize, and prioritize requests for new functionality.
  • Assess market competition, client preferences, emerging technologies, and industry trends to identify opportunities.

Qualifications

  • 7+ years of relevant product management experience or equivalent, with at least 5 years managing and coaching a team of Product Managers.
  • Fluency with AI tools like Claude, Vercel, or similar.
  • Demonstrated instances of “getting out of the building” to understand customer needs and product interactions (including working shifts at customer restaurants/bars).
  • Experience and comfort operating in metrics‑driven work environments that leverage data for informed decisions.
  • Strong understanding of the product development lifecycle and experience designing and delivering quality products.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects in an iterative process.
  • Strong communication and presentation skills, capable of presenting to SMBs, seasoned investors, and executives.
  • Experience making decisions with imperfect information and comfort managing teams through ambiguity and complexity.
  • Past restaurant experience, especially working in a restaurant, is a serious plus but not a hard requirement.

Pay

Base pay range: $275,000 – $320,000 for this role. Offers will be reflective of the candidate’s location and experience.

Benefits

  • Medical, Dental and Vision Insurance
  • 401k with company match
  • RSUs
  • Paid vacation, 10 company holidays, sick time, and volunteer time off
  • Employee Resource Groups to build community and inclusion at work
  • Monthly cell phone and internet stipend
  • Tuition reimbursement for up to $2,000 per calendar year for professional development
