MCS Group is partnering with an established organization operating across secure payments, identity technology, and advanced manufacturing to appoint a Vice President of Information Technology for North America. The company has established core technology platforms and systems. As the organization continues to grow and evolve, there is an opportunity to further integrate and standardize its technology environment, strengthen infrastructure and data management, and ensure its systems support future growth. This newly created position offers significant visibility across the organization.

About the Role

This role involves assessing the current technology landscape, establishing key priorities, and developing a practical roadmap for IT modernization across North America. It is ideal for a senior technology leader who enjoys combining strategy with hands-on delivery, shaping the technology roadmap while driving its early stages.

Responsibilities

  • Assess the existing technology environment across North American operations.
  • Identify immediate priorities and develop a phased IT modernization roadmap.
  • Define and deliver a technology strategy aligned with the organization’s commercial and operational goals.
  • Improve the performance, resilience, and scalability of the company’s Microsoft Azure environment.
  • Review and optimize ERP and other business-critical platforms.
  • Strengthen integrations and interoperability between enterprise systems.
  • Establish consistent technology processes, governance frameworks, and operational playbooks.
  • Advance the company’s approach to enterprise data architecture, data quality, and master data management.
  • Ensure the technology environment meets PCI DSS and other stringent security requirements.
  • Support a highly audited environment handling sensitive payment, identity, and customer information.
  • Strengthen business continuity, disaster recovery, and system availability.
  • Work closely with executive leadership to translate business priorities into practical technology initiatives.
  • Evaluate the skills and resources required to support the organization’s future technology needs.
  • Provide technical direction while remaining actively involved in the delivery of key initiatives.

Requirements

  • Significant experience leading enterprise IT, infrastructure, architecture, or technology transformation.
  • A strong track record of assessing an established technology environment and creating a prioritized improvement roadmap.
  • Hands-on experience with cloud infrastructure, ideally Microsoft Azure.
  • Strong knowledge of enterprise architecture, systems integration, and operational resilience.
  • Experience optimizing or transforming ERP and enterprise applications.
  • Understanding of enterprise data architecture, governance, and master data management.
  • Experience working within a regulated, highly audited, or security-sensitive environment.
  • Knowledge of PCI DSS (highly advantageous).
  • The technical depth to evaluate existing systems, guide architectural decisions, and drive delivery.
  • Strong commercial judgment and ability to communicate effectively with executive stakeholders.
  • Experience supporting technology across multiple locations or business units.
  • A practical, solutions-focused approach with confidence to establish priorities and take ownership of delivery.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience within payments, financial services, fintech, secure identity, or another highly regulated industry (valuable).
  • Manufacturing experience (beneficial but not essential).

Schedule

This position is based in the Greater Boston area and requires an on-site presence for a minimum of four days per week.

Candidates must already be authorized to work in the United States without the need for current or future sponsorship. Employment will be subject to applicable pre-employment screening requirements due to the secure nature of the environment.
