About the role

Somerset Federal Credit Union is seeking an experienced and people-focused VP of Human Resources to lead all HR functions for our growing organization.

Responsibilities

  • Manage and oversee all daily human resources operations for the credit union
  • Develop, implement, and maintain HR policies, procedures, and employee programs
  • Lead recruitment, hiring, onboarding, and retention efforts for all departments
  • Provide guidance and support to managers and employees regarding employee relations, performance management, and workplace concerns
  • Ensure compliance with federal and state employment laws, labor regulations, and internal policies
  • Administer employee benefits, leave programs, and compensation processes
  • Coincide with employee training, leadership development, and compliance-related training programs
  • Support performance evaluation processes and employee development initiatives
  • Maintain accurate employee records and HR reporting while ensuring confidentiality
  • Partner with executive leadership on workforce planning, succession planning, and organizational development
  • Promote employee engagement and a culture focused on teamwork, integrity, accountability, and membership
  • Aid with payroll coordination, budgeting, and strategic HR planning
  • Support audits and regulatory examinations related to HR documentation and compliance

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field required
  • 5+ years of progressive HR experience, preferably within financial services, banking, or credit unions
  • Strong knowledge of employment laws, HR compliance, and best practices
  • Experience managing employee relations, benefits administration, and performance management
  • Excellent communication, leadership, and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to handle confidential and sensitive information with professionalism and discretion
  • Proficiency in ADP payroll systems
