VP of HR

About the role

The VP of Human Resources will serve as a strategic business partner to executive leadership, leading the HR function across a multi-state manufacturing organization with more than 3,000 employees. This individual will be responsible for driving workforce strategy, operational excellence, talent development, employee engagement, labor relations, compliance, and organizational effectiveness.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and execute the enterprise HR strategy to support business growth, operational excellence, and organizational performance
  • Partner with executive leadership on workforce planning, organizational design, succession planning, and change management initiatives
  • Lead and develop a geographically dispersed HR leadership team across multiple manufacturing locations
  • Drive employee engagement, retention, leadership development, and performance management strategies
  • Standardize HR policies, programs, and processes while balancing site-specific operational needs
  • Utilize HR metrics and workforce analytics to support strategic decision-making and continuous improvement
  • Partner with Operations to address workforce planning, labor market challenges, and talent pipeline development
  • Oversee hourly recruiting, onboarding, and retention strategies across manufacturing facilities
  • Lead complex employee relations matters, investigations, and labor relations initiatives in both union and non-union environments
  • Ensure compliance with employment laws and HR best practices while supporting a culture of accountability, safety, and continuous improvement

Requirements

  • Experience in food manufacturing is required
  • Experience leading HR across four or more multi-state manufacturing sites
  • Previous HR Vice President or CHRO experience supporting an organization with 1,000+ employees and a large hourly workforce
  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, Industrial Relations, or related field (Master's degree preferred)
  • 15+ years of progressive HR leadership experience, including senior leadership within manufacturing or industrial operations
  • Demonstrated success partnering with executive leadership to align HR strategy with business objectives
  • Strong background in employee relations, labor relations, organizational development, talent management, and employment law
  • Experience leading organizational change, growth initiatives, and HR transformation in complex environments
  • Proven ability to lead geographically dispersed HR teams and influence across all levels of the organization
  • Willingness to travel up to 50% to support manufacturing operations across North America

Pay

$220,000 – $250,000 base salary + executive bonus opportunity

Schedule

Worksite Location: East Metro, Twin Cities – Corporate Headquarters (Travel up to 50% throughout North America)
