Opening multiple schools on schedule, with increasing efficiency each time, is not. 2 Hour Learning is establishing a nationwide school network engineered to condense a full day's education into two concentrated hours through AI. Successful scaling requires the same precision applied to the educational model to be applied to physical expansion. Your mandate is to deliver on that requirement.
Validate Site Feasibility
- Assess zoning, permitting pathways, cost structures, and timeline realism through structured, AI-supported evaluation
Manage Multiple Concurrent School Construction Projects
- Direct construction managers
- Clear obstacles
- Deliver on-time, on-budget results
Prepare Comprehensive Capital Project Proposals
- Provide stakeholders with clear scope, cost, and execution plans ready for decision
Vendor Sourcing, RFP Processes, and Contract Negotiations
- Emphasize execution speed, output quality, and budget discipline
Break Down Expansion Processes into Discrete Operational Units
- Construct AI-powered systems that reduce cycle times and increase delivery predictability
What You Won’t Be Doing
- Functioning as a passive coordinator who waits for status reports from contractors or external partners
- Focusing narrowly on a single stage (e.g., site acquisition or construction only) without accountability for end-to-end delivery
- Depending on unstructured, one-off approaches that require reinvention at every new site
- Delegating issues upward without taking direct action to resolve permitting, design, or construction roadblocks
- Prolonging stakeholder alignment cycles without pushing toward clear, actionable decisions
VP of Capital Projects Key Responsibilities
- Lead the complete expansion lifecycle for new school locations by delivering fully operational campuses on reliable schedules while systematically decreasing time-to-open, capital expenditure, and execution risk through AI-enabled process improvement
Basic Requirements
- Proven track record leading at least one real estate development or construction initiative from site identification through operational opening with full accountability
- Experience overseeing multiple simultaneous builds or capital projects with direct ownership of scheduling, coordination, and problem resolution
- Deep working knowledge of zoning regulations, permitting processes, construction execution, and vendor management, including direct engagement with general contractors, architects, and regulatory authorities
- Proven capacity to evaluate tradeoffs involving cost, schedule, and feasibility and drive decisions with clear, quantifiable results
- Experience refining or systematizing complex operational processes (e.g., permitting workflows, design coordination, construction delivery)
- Demonstrated capability to deconstruct intricate workflows into standardized, repeatable frameworks and enhance them iteratively
- Track record of applying tools (AI-based or other) to minimize manual effort, expedite decision processes, or increase execution velocity
- Strong ownership orientation with the capacity to navigate ambiguity and produce tangible, real-world results
- Willingness and availability to travel up to 60% to active construction and school sites nationwide and maintain on-site presence during pivotal development and opening stages
- Current residence in the US and authorization to work without requiring visa sponsorship
