VP, Medical Director
About the role
As a Vice President, Medical Director, you will be joining a growing team and function at RevHealth, comprising talented and experienced medical strategists and content developers with diverse backgrounds and skill sets. In your role, you’ll be the scientific and clinical expert providing strategic guidance to internal teams and clients on assigned accounts and new business initiatives. In collaboration with strategy, creative, and account teams, you’ll bring scientific/medical insight to ensure differentiating scientific relevance and credibility to make brands stand out. You’ll also contribute to the department's growth and development, ensuring the team and function deliver industry standard-setting performance, as well as effectively utilizing internal and external resources.
What you'll do
- Lead medically related client interactions across multiple accounts.
- Participate in new business pitches as needed.
- Provide medical strategic guidance and leadership on assigned accounts.
- Build working relationships with key client marketing and medical personnel.
- Mentor junior team members supporting assigned accounts.
- Own medical strategy and writing activities for multiple projects with minimal direction while working cross-functionally.
- Ensure high-quality execution regarding scientific content: organization, clarity, accuracy, format consistency, and adherence to regulatory and internal guidelines, styles, and processes.
- Remain up to date with the medical literature and industry events relevant to the client's brands.
- Identify medical opportunities for strategic and tactical development.
- Present in various settings: internal meetings, client meetings, and pitch presentations.
- Clearly communicate medical concepts in a concise, audience-appropriate manner.
- Contribute to department development: skills, initiatives, innovation, and organization.
- Develop and execute thought leadership, building a reputation as a trusted industry expert
- Use AI and automated tools to drive efficiency while maintaining medical excellence and quality standards
Requirements
- Advanced degree preferred (PhD, MS, PharmD, or equivalent)
- 8-12 years of relevant experience developing medical strategy and content in pharmaceutical advertising, promotional medical education, medical affairs, and/or similar field in a client-facing role
- 5+ years’ experience in medical strategy and content for creative promotional work (advertising)
- Substantial experience driving and developing medical affairs and/or peer-to-peer initiatives
- Able to effectively interact with clients and healthcare professionals and provide independent medical direction
- Strong mentoring skills
- Familiarity and comfort using AI tools or enthusiasm for learning and incorporating AI into workflows
