Key Responsibilities
- Lead the marketing and distribution of structured loan transactions of USD-denominated transactions from Latin American and European companies into the BLS investor universe.
- Drive investor dialogue transaction messaging for Latin American corporate credits, including leveraged loans, acquisition financing, Holdco structures and event-driven financings.
- Build and execute tailored syndication strategies for each transaction: investor targeting, order book development, feedback gathering, and pricing optimization.
- Serve as a commercial and technical interface between Latin American origination/structuring teams and US-based investors, ensuring seamless communication of credit stories, jurisdictional considerations, and risk-return profiles.
- Expand BTG Pactual’s distribution footprint among U.S. private direct lenders, institutional credit funds, and loan market participants with appetite for Latin American exposure.
- Maintain ongoing coverage of key investors active in emerging markets credit, cross-border lending, and special situations.
- Monitor market conditions, investor sentiment, and relative value dynamics specific to Latin American syndicated loans and private credit.
- Partner closely with internal teams in São Paulo (Origination, Structuring, Coverage) and New York (DCM, Leveraged Finance, Structured Finance) to ensure coordinated execution.
- Support the structuring and positioning of complex cross-border transactions, including multi-jurisdictional credits, project-related financings, and bespoke credit solutions.
- Contribute to the development of BTG Pactual's Latin America-focused syndication platform in the U.S. market.
Candidate Profile
- 7-10 years of experience in loan syndication, leveraged finance sales, private credit distribution, or institutional credit marketing, ideally gained at a leading global bank, investment bank, private credit platform, or alternative asset manager with exposure to Latin American credit.
- Proven track record in distributing and selling loan transactions to sophisticated institutional investors, particularly private direct lenders and credit funds.
- Ability to understand and articulate complex credit structures, including jurisdictional risks, documentation nuances, and cross-border considerations specific to Latin America.
- Established network across U.S.-based private credit funds, institutional investors, and loan market participants with interest in Latin American opportunities.
- Demonstrated ability to generate investor interest and build credibility around non-U.S. credit stories.
- Strong commercial instincts, negotiation skills, and investor-facing communication abilities.
- High level of autonomy and execution capability in a fast-paced, entrepreneurial environment.
Required Qualifications
- Fluency in English and Spanish is required.
- Strong knowledge of institutional loan investors, private credit markets, and syndicated loan distribution.
- Excellent presentation, negotiation, and communication skills.
- Ability to work across cross-border transactions and multicultural teams.
- Bachelor’s degree required; advanced degree is a plus.
Preferred Attributes
- Existing relationships that can immediately add value to BTG Pactual’s Latin American syndication and distribution platform.
- Track record of successfully marketing complex or non-plain-vanilla credits, particularly in emerging markets contexts.
- Familiarity with Latin American corporate credit, regulatory environments, and market dynamics (Brazil, Mexico, Colombia, Chile, Peru, Argentina).
- Experience working with European investors or credits is a plus, given BTG's broader platform.
- Strong judgment and ability to balance commercial objectives with risk and reputational considerations.
