Job Summary

About the role

The Vice President, Global Logistics & Transportation is responsible for leading, standardizing and driving logistics initiatives and projects globally across At Home. This includes initiating improvements in logistics operations and facilitating a strategic outlook to improve our logistics capabilities.

Responsibilities

  • Evaluate our technology needs and create recommendations that balance advancements with agility.
  • Differentiate functions to be managed internally as a core competency vs. leveraging external partners.
  • Partner with shipping and freight service providers to create value by balancing cost, capacity, and execution certainty in support of revenue and margin goals.
  • Maintain strong relationships with Team Members, customers, and product partners to deliver operational outcomes and increase agility in the supply chain.
  • Build strong partnerships internally to align supply chain outcomes with strategic objectives.
  • Understand and develop strategies that support our objective of product partner diversification across the globe.
  • Work closely with finance and planning to analyze supply chain performance and to develop strategies for improvement.
  • Drive analytics to monitor carrier performance and identify opportunities to minimize costs while maximizing service.
  • Ensure all aspects of compliance with Customs & Border Protection (CBP), FDA, Fish and Wildlife, FTC, etc. are met.
  • Actively support and develop relationships with Customs Border Protection (CBP) local, national, and foreign officials that contribute to our C-TPAT certification and the legal and consistently flow of products.
  • Understand and educate the organization on Department of Transportation (DOT), transport, and common carriers compliance regulations and requirements.
  • Design strategy and improve processes for our supply chain to maximize efficiency and reduce costs.
  • Monitor and support freight audit and payment process between carriers and company.
  • Develop strategies to optimize our inbound and outbound logistics.
  • Inspire, engage, support, and maintain a professional Global Logistics & Transportation department.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in transportation, business, supply chain, or other fields related to logistics.
  • 10+ years' experience in logistics roles with increasing responsibilities.
  • Proven knowledge of all modes of transportation: ocean, rail, motor carrier.

  • Proven experience in using data (KPIs) in a measurable way to achieve specific strategic results that are relevant to the organization.
