About the role
The Vice President of Global Physical Logistics is responsible for all aspects of engine and material movement for the Defense Business, ensuring the safety of personnel and products. This role is part of the Business Support team within Defense, focusing on product delivery through seamless integration with Supply and P&L functions.
Responsibilities
- Drive and promote a safety culture across the organization and with Global 3PLs.
- Represent the Defense Global Business with leadership, accountability, and expertise in warehousing and transportation, and drive the Defense Global Logistics Strategy in coordination with the Transformation Office and other RR Business Sectors.
- Oversee the Bristol team of Shipping and Compliance Controllers, Aviation Security on the Defence Assembly Operations Facility, Waste Packaging Submission, and the SAO (Senior Accounting Officer) letter to the Defense CFO.
- Manage the Defense Global Logistics budget, driving cost savings in warehousing and transportation areas, and ensure accurate cost apportionment into Commercial and Programs.
- Lead a multi-functional GP team that is cross-trained and capable of supporting any issues or projects globally, including Logistics Operations Managers and Logistics Specialists (Super Users).
- Manage relationships with 3PLs for warehousing and transportation contract management, ensuring all contractually agreed KPIs are met while driving down costs and maximizing output across the Global organization.
Requirements
- Associate degree with 10+ years of Warehousing, Commercial, Manufacturing, Operations, Supply Chain, Logistics or Procurement experience, OR Bachelor’s degree with 8+ years of experience, OR Master’s degree with 6+ years of experience, OR JD/PhD with 3+ years of experience, OR 12+ years of experience in lieu of a degree.
- Global team management, Lean Manufacturing experience, Green or Blackbelt certification, and 3PL Logistic experience preferred.

- Extensive experience with Supply Chain in a large international business, including manufacturing and lean practices.
- Adept with SAP.
