VP, Finance Excellence and Transformation
Job Summary
Amentum is seeking an experienced and strategic Vice President of Finance Excellence and Transformation to lead a technology-centric enterprise-wide Finance transformation. This role will play a critical role in unifying Amentum's finance landscape and creating a scalable, integrated future-state operating model that supports the company's long-term profitable growth objectives.
Key Responsibilities
Developing the Transformation Vision: Collaborate with CFO leadership team to create a compelling, well-defined finance transformation vision that aligns with the broader organizational strategy and identifies opportunities for value creation.
Stakeholder Engagement: Establish a stakeholder management strategy to secure buy-in and support from key stakeholders. Engage with business leaders early in the process to foster collaboration and address concerns.
Change Management: Partner closely with Finance, Contracts, IT, HR, and Operations leaders on effective change management while harmonizing processes and ensuring alignment and adoption of new tools and standards.
Assess Current-State Processes: Identify gaps, inefficiencies, and integration challenges related to M&A-driven growth by evaluating current processes, systems, legacy platforms, and organizational structures.
Lead Transformation Program: Design and deliver a multi-year transformation roadmap leveraging technology to strengthen processes, systems, data, and governance. Coordinate and oversee day-to-day activities across project phases, including scope definition, dependency management, resource allocation, and milestone tracking.
Drive Continuous Improvement: Implement continuous improvement and modernization initiatives including financial system automation, data governance, and reporting enhancements. Set and track key performance indicators (KPIs) that measure the success of transformation initiatives.
Manage Stakeholders: Oversee diverse stakeholder groups to drive initiatives impacting H2R, P2P, O2C, R2R, and other end-to-end processes. Manage cross-functional project teams, external consultants, and technology vendors.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities: Demonstrate data-driven and continuous learning mindset, ability to evaluate and apply emerging technologies, and experience using AI tools to enhance workflows, productivity, decision-making, customer experiences, business outcomes, or operational efficiency. Possess strong understanding of government contracting financial requirements, including FAR, CAS, indirect rate structures, and audit readiness. Experience driving multi-phase cross-functional projects involving ERP systems, adjacent functional systems, process automation, and data/reporting modernization. Exhibit strong executive communication skills and storytelling capabilities to present the transformation vision effectively to diverse audiences. Exhibit strong skills in relationship-building and conflict resolution to engage stakeholders and address resistance effectively. Define strategic objectives aligned with corporate goals and lead the team towards achieving these objectives through a structured approach. Exhibit demonstrated program leadership and execution to lead cross-functional finance transformation projects spanning process standardization, automation, and data integrity. Exhibit continuous improvement mindset focused on learning from past initiatives to refine future strategies. Exhibit adaptive to changes in business priorities and capable of adjusting the transformation strategy as the organization evolves.
Minimum Qualifications
Typically 12–15+ years of progressive experience in Finance, Program Finance, or Financial Operations, with at least 5 years leading enterprise-wide finance transformation initiatives.
Bachelor’s degree in finance, accounting, business, or related field; master’s degree is preferred.
Proven track record of leading finance teams and managing transformation projects with proven success managing post-M&A financial process integration, legacy system consolidation, and data harmonization in a complex Govcon environment.
Compensation Details
$255,000 - $295,000 + Bonus
