VP, Finance Business Partner - Investments
About the role
The Vice President Finance Business Partner, Investments is a strategic leadership role responsible for overseeing the financial operations of the investment function within a multi-line reinsurance company. This role requires a deep understanding of investment strategies, asset classes, asset-liability matching, and other reinsurance-specific investment considerations.
Responsibilities
- Provide strategic financial leadership for the life and annuity business segment, including financial planning, budgeting, forecasting, and analysis
- Collaborate with designated segment to provide business partner support including reporting and analysis to optimize functions
- Ensure compliance with all relevant regulatory requirements and standards, including financial reporting and solvency regulations
- Monitor and analyze financial performance, identify trends, and provide actionable insights to senior management
- Support the development and execution of strategic initiatives including development of key performance indicators (KPIs) to drive growth and profitability in the life and annuity business
- Communicate financial results and strategic plans to internal and external stakeholders, including the board of directors, investors, and regulatory bodies
- Lead and mentor within a high-performing finance team, fostering a culture of excellence and continuous improvement
Requirements
Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Business Administration, Accounting, Economics, or related field. MBA, CFA, or other advanced finance qualifications preferred
10+ years’ experience in a senior financial leadership role within the reinsurance or insurance industry
Strong knowledge of reinsurance industry practices, investment products, regulatory and accounting requirements
Excellent verbal, written and presentation skills
Strong ability to craft narratives that connect financial performance to strategic goals, ensuring clarity and impact
Adept at communicating financial information to both technical and non-technical audiences, fostering alignment and understanding
Strong analytical, strategic planning, and communication skills; proficiency in financial modeling and financial principles
Adequate ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams and guide and mentor teams through thought leadership and support

Pay
The base salary range for this role is listed below and will be commensurate with candidate experience. Pay ranges for candidates may differ based on the cost of labor in that location. In addition to base salary, all employees are eligible for an annual bonus based on company and individual performance as well as a generous benefits package.
Base Salary Range: $215,000 USD - $240,000 USD
