The U.S. Insurance Engineered Risk practice at Sompo provides first-party property coverage for contractor-controlled projects, including Contractor All Risk, Erection All Risk, and Civil infrastructure occupancies. This role is based in Alpharetta, GA; Dallas, TX; Chicago, IL; Houston, TX; New York, NY; Los Angeles, CA; or San Francisco, CA.
About the role
Responsible for developing the Engineered Risk business within their assigned territory. Underwrites complex construction projects, manages and develops producer and client relationships, and creates a reputation as an industry expert.
Responsibilities
- Develops and executes a regional marketing plan to retain existing business and produce new business.
- Provides technical expertise to Sompo's Global Risk Solution and Inland Marine product lines.
- Gathers and evaluates industry trends and competitive intelligence.
- Participates in the development of policy forms, premium rating plans, and underwriting guidelines.
- Maintains files in an orderly manner consistent with company guidelines.
- Works collaboratively with others within a team and contributes to the development of others.
- Attends industry functions.
- Travels nationally 25% of the time.
Requirements
- 12+ years of Engineered Risk/Construction Property underwriting experience.
- Established relationships with regional retail & wholesale brokers.
- Experience in successfully underwriting, quoting, and binding profitable business.
- Bachelor’s Degree with an Engineering discipline preferred.
Qualifications

Pay
$190,000.00 – $240,000.00, actual compensation depends on location and performance.
Schedule
National travel 25% of the time.
