VP, DM1 Commercial Asset Lead
Role Summary
The VP, DM1 Commercial Asset Lead (CAL) is a passionate driver of the value of Dyne’s DM1 commercial asset with a global perspective, bringing adaptable leadership to develop and implement commercialization strategies that maximize reach and value creation within the neuromuscular portfolio.
This mandate includes market analysis, competitive positioning, launch readiness and execution, and input into lifecycle management to support long-term success in bringing the asset to patients globally. The CAL is a highly visible leadership role and, as a key member of the Program Team, works cross-functionally to influence and help shape Program strategy.
Primary Responsibilities Include
Global Commercial Strategy & Asset Leadership
- Define global asset commercialization strategy and plan to achieve milestones and timelines for successful launches
- Shape competitive positioning, differentiation strategy, and overall value proposition
- Provide commercialization input into program strategy, including label and access considerations
- Establish strategic imperatives, critical success factors, and execution priorities
Launch Readiness & Market Planning
- Lead global launch planning and readiness across key markets, starting with the U.S.
- Partner with cross-functional teams (medical, regulatory, supply, marketing, digital, data) to prepare for launch execution
- Collaborate with affiliate teams and external partners to support reimbursement and access readiness
- Drive continuous improvement and learning across markets
Cross-Functional Leadership & Program Integration
- Serve as a key member of the Program Team and lead the DM1 Commercial Sub-Team
- Ensure alignment across commercialization pillars (product profile, access, launch planning)
- Facilitate cross-functional decision-making and drive timely outcomes
- Build strong partnerships across functions and maintain clear communication with leadership
External Engagement & Stakeholder Management
- Build a credible and visible presence within the DM1 community, including KOLs, patient advocacy groups, and care teams
- Maintain awareness of competitive landscape and evolving market dynamics
- Support preparation and presentation of commercialization materials for senior leadership and Board discussions
- Participate in business development activities, including opportunity evaluation and due diligence, as needed
Education and Skills Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in a relevant scientific, medical, or business discipline required; advanced degree strongly preferred
- Minimum of 20 years of experience in the biopharmaceutical industry
- 15+ years of commercialization and cross-functional leadership experience
- Extensive experience leading global product launches, including a minimum of 3 launches
- Rare disease experience strongly preferred; neuromuscular experience highly advantageous
- Proven track record of delivering on business objectives in fast-paced, high-stakes environments
- Proven ability to steer assets from late-stage development through approval and launch
- Experience influencing global and U.S. market access and reimbursement readiness
- Demonstrated success developing global commercialization strategies
- Experience collaborating across clinical, medical, regulatory, supply, and commercial functions
- Ability to synthesize complex data to guide strategy
- Strong cross-functional leadership and stakeholder influence
- Proven ability to inspire and mobilize high-performing teams
