About the role
Jamie Benway with Robert Half is searching for an experienced finance leader to guide financial strategy and oversee core accounting operations for our organization in Oregon. This role will balance high-level planning with hands-on leadership across forecasting, reporting, and process improvement. The ideal candidate brings strong command of monthly close activities and budgeting while partnering effectively with senior leadership to support sound business decisions.
Responsibilities
- Lead the company's finance and accounting function, providing direction on planning, reporting, and overall financial performance.
- Oversee the monthly close cycle to ensure timely, accurate financial statements and clear visibility into results.
- Develop and manage annual budgets, forecasts, and long-range financial plans that align with organizational goals.
- Partner with executive leadership to evaluate financial trends, identify risks, and recommend strategies to improve performance.
- Strengthen internal controls, reporting procedures, and finance workflows to support accuracy and operational efficiency.
- Deliver meaningful analysis on variances, cash flow, and key business drivers to support informed decision-making.
- Manage and mentor finance team members, fostering accountability, collaboration, and growth.
- Support ongoing improvements to financial processes and systems as business needs evolve.
Qualifications
- Proven experience in a senior finance leadership role such as Director of Finance, VP of Finance, or a similar position.
- Strong background in month-end close management and financial statement oversight.
- Demonstrated success leading budgeting, forecasting, and financial planning processes.
- Ability to translate complex financial information into practical guidance for executive stakeholders.
- Solid understanding of accounting principles, internal controls, and financial analysis.
- Experience building, leading, and developing high-performing finance teams.
- Affordable housing industry experience is strongly preferred, though not required.
