VP Development North America (Fundraising)

Key Responsibilities

• Identify, qualify, cultivate, solicit, and steward a portfolio of high-net-worth individuals, foundations, and corporate partners to secure major gifts (typically $50,000+).
• Build and maintain strong, personalized donor relationships through regular communication, in-person and virtual meetings, and thoughtful stewardship.
• Manage an active portfolio of approximately 100–150 prospects.
• Lead and execute fundraising initiatives, including special events, targeted campaigns, and digital engagement strategies to broaden and deepen the donor base.
• Partner with the Content team to craft compelling proposals, pitch materials, and case-for-support messaging that clearly communicates JNS’s mission, impact, and growth vision.
• Work closely with senior leadership, board members, and internal teams to align development efforts with organizational priorities.
• Provide mentorship and guidance to development staff as needed.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 10 years of nonprofit fundraising experience, with a demonstrated record of securing major gifts and achieving ambitious revenue targets.
• Bachelor’s degree required; Master’s degree preferred.
• Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, strategic thinking, strong relationship-building ability, and high intercultural awareness.
• Deep understanding of donor stewardship, fundraising best practices, current philanthropy trends, and regulatory compliance.
