VP, Data and Systems
Role Purpose
Brio is seeking a [Vice President] to lead the Data and Systems pillar within the Portfolio Strategy Group (PSG), reporting to the head of the group. This individual will help to drive the group’s data infrastructure — ensuring pipelines, tooling, and governance are scalable, reliable, and standardized across all funds and capital sources.
The ideal candidate combines deep CRE investment experience with hands-on technical expertise and is equally comfortable designing a data architecture and engaging with investment stakeholders on their data needs.
What You Will Do
Own and evolve the data infrastructure, including data pipelines, platform integrations, and governance frameworks across all funds and capital sources
Design and maintain scalable data architecture (e.g. data lakes, warehouses) supporting investor reporting, fund analytics, and internal workflows
Implement and manage asset management platforms and proprietary internal / external data products; drive automation initiatives that reduce manual burden across the investment team
Partner closely with other PSG pillars to ensure data quality, accessibility, and consistency underpin all downstream outputs
Lead the Dallas and India pod members within the Data and Systems pillar
Set functional standards for data management firm-wide; ensure infrastructure scales efficiently as new funds and products are launched or dissolved
What You Should Have
8+ years of experience spanning CRE investment management and data / technology functions at an institutional platform (e.g. investment bank, alternative asset manager, or REIT)
Direct experience with CRE debt strategies (loan asset management, NPL/PL, CMBS)
Hands-on technical proficiency: SQL, Python, ETL pipelines, and BI tools (Power BI or Tableau); experience with API integrations and cloud-based automation
Proven ability to build and scale data infrastructure in support of investment reporting and decision-making
Experience managing cross-functional or offshore teams a plus
Strong communicator capable of bridging technical and investment stakeholder needs
