About the Role
Under general guidance of the Senior VP Commercial Loan Officer, you will independently prepare credit analysis and credit review reports and effectively manage the staff and operation of the Commercial Credit Department to ensure timely completion of credit analysis, credit review, and appraisal review functions necessary to meet Bank goals.

- Manage Commercial Credit Department staff to fulfill departmental goals and objectives.

- Oversee department output, workload, and staff assignments to meet goals for preparing comprehensive, detailed credit analysis reports outlining thorough credit risk assessments of new loan applicants for presentation to the bank’s Investment Committee.
- Ensure goals are met for preparing annual credit reviews of the bank’s large commercial relationships, including loan covenant compliance reviews and written summaries of recent performance and exceptions.
- Perform internal Real Estate collateral evaluations as needed.
- Manage the appraisal review function to ensure timely completion, reasonableness of value estimates, and compliance with Bank appraisal policy.
- Assist with preparation of Watch List Reports and Loan Loss Reserve analysis.
- Maintain a system for accurate tracking of required financial statements and annual file commentaries to keep credit files up-to-date.
- Create and produce spreadsheets and reports to monitor portfolio concentrations, credit exceptions, large borrowing relationships, pipeline activity, and trends.
- Provide training, guidance, and leadership to junior staff, including reviewing draft reports and offering editing guidance.
- Complete all required compliance training and comply with applicable regulations.
- Perform additional duties as requested.
Requirements
- Five to seven years of related credit analysis experience and/or training in a banking/credit environment, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Prior supervisory experience for a function and/or people is preferred.
- Extensive commercial credit analysis experience with the ability to read, interpret, and analyze business financial statements.
- Excellent verbal, written, and communication skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively as part of a support team.
- Strong working knowledge of typical desktop software applications and lending/credit software platforms.
- Intermediate to strong spreadsheet (MS Excel) capabilities, including creating ad-hoc reports efficiently from general specifications.
- Ability to apply understanding of established policies (Loan, ALLL policies) to properly highlight and document exceptions during the review process.
- Ability to maintain client relationships with professionalism and confidentiality.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Finance, Accounting, or related field.
- Certifications as required by the role.
Physical Requirements
Physical surroundings are generally pleasant and comfortable with minimal exposure to injury or other hazards and a moderate level of noise. Minimal physical effort is required; typically seated with freedom of movement on a regular basis, though extended periods of computer use may be involved.
