VP, Commercial Strategy & Growth
About the Role
As Chomps scales toward its next phase of growth, two significant opportunities are ahead: expanding our international presence and extending the brand into adjacent categories. This newly created role, reporting directly to the President & COO, will provide dedicated senior leadership across these growth platforms—shaping where we play, how we win, and how we sequence investment against our long-range ambitions. Working across Consumer Insights, Innovation, Marketing, Sales, Finance, and Operations, this leader will translate growth opportunities into clear, commercially grounded strategies and ensure they are effectively commercialized from concept through market execution.
Responsibilities
- Own the multi-year growth strategy and glide path for international expansion and new categories, integrated into the company's long-range plan.
- Build and defend the business case for each new platform, market sizing, margin, capital requirements, and go/no-go economics, and bring rigor to how we prioritize and sequence.
- Stand up and chair a cross-functional stage-gate that moves new products from concept through validated, scaled launch, with clear entry and exit criteria at each gate.
- Orchestrate the matrix: partner with Marketing on innovation and brand, Operations on commercialization and supply, Sales on channel and customer strategy, Finance on the model, Digital Transformation on system and tools, and Business Development on licensing, partnerships and M&A.
- Lead go-to-market strategy for new-market and new-category entry, including channel, pricing, and partner selection.
- Serve as interim P&L steward for emerging bets until they are large enough to graduate to a dedicated general manager.
- Give the CEO, President & COO and senior leadership a single, current view of growth-bet health against the plan.
- Reports out to the Company's board as far as growth strategies, capital allocation and resource needs.
Qualifications
- 12+ years in CPG with a track record in commercial strategy, corporate strategy, general management, or new-business and venture roles, ideally in food or beverage.
- Demonstrated ownership of a new-category, new-channel, or international expansion, carried from strategy through market launch.
- Fluency across the full commercialization lifecycle: consumer insight, product development, supply and operations, pricing, and retail and channel sell-in—enough to integrate specialists even where you are not the specialist.
- A strong financial and analytical toolkit: business-case modeling, P&L literacy, and disciplined investment prioritization.
- Proven ability to lead through influence across a matrix, driving outcomes without owning every function.
- The executive presence to partner with the President & COO, CEO, and board on capital and portfolio decisions.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in high-growth or founder-led environments, and genuine comfort with ambiguity and pace.
- Direct experience launching internationally (Canada, Mexico, or the UK) or in adjacent snacking categories.
- A blend of consulting or corporate-development background with hands-on, in-house operating experience.
