About the role
North Star Bank is expanding its commercial lending group and is seeking an experienced VP Commercial Loan Officer to join the team. This position is responsible for growing and maintaining profitable and high-quality account relationships with commercial customers and managing a quality commercial loan portfolio.
Responsibilities
- Generate, negotiate, underwrite, and coordinate the closing of loans in compliance with the Bank’s lending policies and procedures.
- Make credit decisions, ensure overall credit quality, and generate fee income.
- Conduct sales calls and build business relationships with customers.
- Compile financial information and explain loan options to customers.
- Conduct thorough analyses of loan applications and determine loan conditions and terms.
- Present loan requests to the Officer's Loan Committee for approval.
- Manage and service the commercial lending portfolio from sales through payoff, including collection and renewal.
- Ensure compliance with loan policies, approval guidelines, and applicable banking laws and regulations.

Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree from a four-year college or university in business, finance, or a related field.
- Minimum 4 years of commercial lending experience.
- Knowledge of business management principles preferred.

Benefits
The base salary range for this role starts at about $100,000 (not including an incentive plan). Final salary ranges are determined based on a variety of factors, including years of experience, depth of experience, seniority, merit, education, training, and other relevant business considerations.
