About the Role

We are seeking a VP, Commercial Finance to join our team at McCormick's global headquarters in Hunt Valley, MD. This hybrid-eligible position (50% onsite per month) reports to the Americas CFO and partners closely with the President of the U.S. Consumer business. The role leads the U.S. Consumer Commercial Finance organization, partnering with regional and segment leadership to deliver financial targets and drive performance across the full P&L.

Responsibilities

  • Lead core commercial finance activities, including customer and business-unit reporting and analysis, pricing governance, trade spend management and effectiveness, portfolio optimization, and advertising and promotion investment.
  • Provide Finance Supply Chain accountability through indirect reporting lines to ensure end-to-end performance management.
  • Own budgeting, forecasting, and long-range strategic planning for the business, including acquisition due diligence and post-merger integration support.
  • Represent total Americas Consumer results in partnership with Canada and LatAm finance leaders, providing end-to-end leadership across regional finance.
  • Partner with senior executives to set strategy and translate business priorities into actionable financial plans.
  • Anticipate customer and market dynamics, support acquisition due diligence and integration, and raise financial acumen across cross-functional partners.
  • Lead the Finance function for the U.S. Consumer business, including organization design, talent development, and operating rhythm.
  • Serve as a core member of the U.S. Consumer Leadership Team and the Americas Finance Leadership Team.
  • Own U.S. Consumer financial results through rigorous reporting, analysis, and performance management.
  • Influence commercial, supply chain, and procurement decisions to improve profitability and cash.
  • Drive governance and accountability for pricing and trade spend; oversee advertising and promotion investment effectiveness.
  • Ensure a robust controls environment and SOX compliance for commercial finance activities.
  • Develop and lead a high-performing team through coaching, capability building, recognition, and engagement.

Qualifications

  • BA in Finance, Accounting, or related discipline.
  • 15+ years of total financial experience.
  • Proven leadership skills, including successful talent attraction, development, and cross-functional team management.
  • In-depth understanding of external business environment, including customer and industry trends.
  • Knowledge of internal business environment, including activities in other divisional support functions.
  • Familiarity with Integrated Business Planning cycles.
  • Executive-level communication skills, with the ability to synthesize complex information into clear insights.
  • Demonstrated executive presence and ability to influence without authority in a matrixed organization.
  • Proven people leadership, including coaching, mentoring, and succession planning.
  • Ability to handle complexity and competing priorities with strong business judgment and analytical rigor.
  • Working knowledge of foreign currency and hedging concepts.

Preferred Qualifications

  • MBA
  • CPA
  • Experience in public accounting, mergers & acquisitions, commercial and operations finance, financial planning & analysis, or CPG public company environments.

Pay

Base Salary: $200,280-$360,470. Compensation will be determined based on factors such as geographic location, skills, education, and experience. This position is eligible for McCormick’s Incentive Bonus (MIB) Plan, Sales Incentive Bonus (SIB) Plan, and Dividend Program.
