Primary Responsibilities
- Oversee daily operations of an assigned production line (grinding, filling, packaging, or pails)
- Ensure line is properly staffed and balanced for efficient operation
- Maintain a clean, organized, and audit-ready work area
- Monitor product consistency, fill weights, seal integrity, and packaging accuracy
- Support equipment setup, changeovers, and basic troubleshooting
- Communicate material shortages or mechanical issues to the Shift Manager
- Auxiliary in training new operators on line-specific SOPs and equipment operation
- Assist in verifying accurate documentation (lot numbers, weights, time checks)
- Track line performance including output, downtime, and waste
- Help ensure daily production targets for the assigned line are met
Requirements
- A high school diploma or equivalent is preferred
- Bilingual in English and Spanish is preferred
- Two or more years of food production or manufacturing experience
- Demonstrated leadership ability or prior team lead experience
- A strong understanding of food safety and GMP requirements
- A mechanical aptitude and ability to assist with minor troubleshooting
- A strong attention to detail and organizational skills
- The ability to communicate clearly and work collaboratively with team members
- Flexibility to work various shifts and overtime as needed
- Previous experience working with a CMMS system is nice to have
- Frequent lifting up to 50 lbs, occasional lifting up to 75 lbs; occasional sitting, climbing/balancing, squatting, crawling, push/pull, and gripping; frequent stooping/twisting, kneeling, reaching, constant standing, walking, visual acuity (near/far); occasional exposure to uneven ground, working at heights, and biohazards; frequent exposure to excessive noise, extreme temperatures, dust/fumes; constant exposure to hazards and machinery
Compensation
Compensation for this role is hourly and will be based on your experience, skills, and location, with a typical hourly range between $24-25/HR.
