The Dog Health Fund is dedicated to helping dog parents access essential veterinary care by providing financial assistance, resources and community support. Our primary focus is to assist low to moderate income households in Jersey City and surrounding areas to ensure that dogs receive health treatment regardless of financial barriers. Our mission is to reduce dog suffering, prevent unnecessary surrenders or euthanasia caused by inability to pay and strengthen the human–animal bond within our community. , Event Overview Event Dogs & Doughnuts (Networking and Information Sharing hosted at Sage Veterinary Center in partnership with The Dog Health Fund)Date Sunday, November 15, 2026Volunteer Shift 10 30 AM – 2 00 PM (Includes setup and cleanup)Location Sage Veterinary Center, 229 10th Street, Jersey City, NJ 07302 Expert Vet Advice with a Side of Sweets Dogs & Doughnuts is a fun, community-focused gathering designed to bring dog lovers together for a morning of learning and connection. Hosted at Sage Veterinary Center, attendees will mingle over coffee, brunch and sweet treats followed by an engaging dog health info session led by one of the center’s founding veterinarians. By pairing practical care insights with a warm social setting, this event supports our mission to ensure every dog in our community receives vital preventative care. Position Purpose We are seeking dog-loving volunteers to help us manage our event, Dogs & Doughnuts! You will ensure everything runs smoothly so we can help educate dog parents on proper care for their dog and raise awareness for preventative medical grants for dogs in need. Key Responsibilities You will be assigned to one or more of the following zones based on event needs Welcome & Check-In Greet attendees, hand out event materials.The Vet Center Support Assist the Sage Veterinary Center staff with logistics.Crowd & Canine Comfort Help maintain a safe, dog-friendly environment. Ensure dogs remain leashed, and assist owners with navigating the space.Setup & Breakdown Assist with light setup before the 11 30 AM start (banners, tables, vendor spots) and help pack up the space at 1 00 PM. Food & Beverages Doughnuts and treats will be provided by Dunkin, the official doughnut sponsor, and Woofgang Bakery, the official treat sponsor. Other participating vendors will provide hot food and breakfast options. Qualifications & Requirements The Vibe A dog-friendly event where paws, pastries and smart pet care unite. You must be highly comfortable around dogs of all shapes and sizes.Reliable & Punctual Ability to arrive on time for the pre-event briefing at 10 30 AM.Physical Stamina Ability to stand, walk around, and assist with light lifting (tables, crates, etc.) for the duration of the shift.
