Position Purpose
We are seeking high-energy, dog-loving volunteers to help us execute our inaugural PAWS & PRs community fundraiser! This exciting event combines a high-impact fitness challenge with a post-workout "Paw-ty" featuring local vendors, puppy meet-and-greets, and prize giveaways.
As a volunteer, you will be the face of the event—ensuring everything runs smoothly so we can raise vital funds to provide preventative medical grants for dogs in need.
Key Responsibilities
- You will be assigned to one or more of the following zones based on event needs:
- - Welcome & Check-In: Greet participants, verify registrations, hand out event materials, and manage the general donation/sponsorship station.
- - The Workout Support: Assist the JCFit coaching staff with logistics, cheer on participants, and manage any vendor stations.
- - The "Paw-ty" Coordination: Help direct attendees to local vendors, monitor the puppy "meet-and-greet" areas, and hand out exclusive prize giveaways.
- - Crowd & Canine Comfort: Help maintain a safe, dog-friendly environment. Ensure dogs remain leashed, and assist owners with navigating the space if limited.
- - Setup & Breakdown: Assist with light setup before the 9:30 AM start (banners, tables, vendor spots) and help pack up the space at 11:00 AM.
Qualifications & Requirements
- Dog Friendly: You must be highly comfortable around dogs of all shapes and sizes (and their owners!)
- Energetic & Welcoming: Enthusiastic attitude to match the high-energy fitness vibe of the event.
- Reliable & Punctual: Ability to arrive on time for the pre-event briefing at 8:45 AM.
- Physical Stamina: Ability to stand, walk around, and assist with light lifting (tables, crates, etc.) for the duration of the shift.
Perks & Benefits
- Free admission to the post-workout social and puppy meet-and-greets.
- Networking opportunities with local fitness enthusiasts, vendors, and the community.
- A fun morning spent hanging out with local pups!
- A volunteer certificate or reference letter upon request.
Impact Note
100% of event donations go directly to providing medical grants for low-to-moderate-income families facing unaffordable veterinary expenses for their dogs. By giving your time, you are helping keep dogs healthy, safe, and with the families who love them.
