Volunteer: Social Media Content Calendar & Copywriting
About the role
Join a team of social media experts to help Swim Across America - Seattle save time and be more strategic with their social media presence.
Responsibilities
- Add social posts to the social media calendar that can be leveraged to manage multiple social media channels easily
- Draft copy for fifteen to twenty posts
- Make recommendations to customize content and optimize it for different platforms
- Provide input on using tools to automate social media postings
- Deliver a completed calendar template filled with fifteen to twenty different posts
Qualifications
- Background in managing professional social media accounts
- Passionate about the mission of Swim Across America - Seattle
- Able to dedicate six hours over three to six weeks to this project
Project preparation
You will be provided with the existing social media calendar, relevant social media handles, brand guidelines from organizations that are pillars in the sector, a file of photos and logos, and a list of hashtags.
About Swim Across America - Seattle
The Swim Across America mission is to award grants to innovative cancer research, clinical trials, early detection, and patient programs through charity swims that unite communities in the fight against cancer. SAA - Seattle funds innovative cancer researchers who cannot get early funding from the National Cancer Institute (NCI) or other large private funders until they have proven their initial hypothesis. SAA funds these initial ideas in the hope of a major cancer therapy breakthrough. However, there are more good ideas than funding, so more funding is needed. A social media volunteer is needed to increase brand awareness and ultimately attract more participants for funding.
